The Happening to Open this Friday

images3.jpgM. Night Shyamalan is to release release his new film, “The Happening” this weekend.  Having been a fan of his, I am very excited.  His films the “Sixth Sense”, “Unbreakable”, “Signs”, and even the poorly reviewed, “The Village” were great films however, Shyamalan’s last film “Lady in the Water” was  a huge disappointment.  Regardless of your opinion of his films, Shyamalan guarantees to introduce a feeling of nervousness during the movie experience.  Through the use of what seems to be rather low budgets with sheer simplicity, Shyamalan continues to bring originality to the table; which is often taken for granted.  There are many mixed feelings about Shyamalan as a director; you either love him or you hate him.  I personally believe he is a brilliant film maker in that he writes his own stories.  It is one thing to adapt a book or even a biography, but the ability to create an original piece is often overlooked.  I will be at the theater on friday night with high anticipation to watch this underrated director’s film. I have large hopes that his first “R” rated film will rave success.  Although “The Incredible Hulk” will probably be at the top of the box office (everyone is still high off Iron Man and are in search for another superhero experience), but “The Happening” promises great film direction by M. Night Shyamalan.  Love or hate him, but is there a better way to spend Friday the 13th then watching a film guaranteed to give you the chills?~Bates

I am a big fan of 2 of his movies. I will have to wait and see about this new one. I am that person that actually paid some hard cash to go and see “Fire Walk With Me”

Fire Walk With by David Lynch right? That was a great film. Be sure to let me know what you think of The Happening as well
