The Visitor

Published by normanbates under 1 Edit This

Definitely a top ten film this year. This story gives us a tour of the “illegal” population in America. Richard Jenkins was amazing in his role of a college professor that initially comes off as an arrogant man, to later help a man who is in the process of being deported. The acting was great, as was the story. This film brought so many elements, which made this such a good film. It consisted of music, family, change, and unknowns. This film should be included in the Oscars. I recommend this film to anyone. No matter what style of film you enjoy the most, you can’t help but be touched by this movie. Again, one of my top tens of 2008. My grade for the film is an A.

In Search of a Midnight Kiss

This is one of my favorites of 08. This independent film is so under the radar, very few will see it. You get the total vibe of a true indy film, but is was brilliant. The film was funny and has great acting from unknowns. It was so corny, yet is was brutally honest. The entire film, you start to buy into this true love crap. But in the end, you are brought back down to earth to realize that maybe true love does not exist. I totally recommend this film. This is how film should be made, from the heart. I believe that director Alex Holdridge has great potential. My grade for the film is a B.

Film Recommendation: Snatch

Published by normanbates under 1 Edit This

Although Guy Richie seems to make the same film over and over. You can’t help but like his style and approach to films. Snatch has to be a favorite among many. It can be seen as the English Pulp Fiction. It is funny, witty, smart, and action packed. This is by far Richie’s best film. We recommend that you get to know this film and learn line by line because it is often quoted. For those of you that have already seen it, make sure you watch it again. Also, don’t forget to see Richie’s newest film, Rocknrolla.
